Pull & Spool

About the pull & spool

The Pull & Spool is designed to pull well pumps, either stick pipe or coil pipe. The stick pipe is pulled with the gantry crane on the front of the machine. The coil pipe is pulled and coiled around the drum. The drum can hold approximately 600 feet of 1 " 200 lb pipe. We have a second spool that collects the wire as the pipe is pulled. This machine can be powered with a full size skid steer loader or a mini skid steer, pictured above.

We designed and built this machine to better serve our customers . We also are offering this machine for sale.

New Hydraulic-Powered Pump puller

This machine is connected to a mini skid or a full size machine with external hydraulics. The hydraulics are supplied to a control panel and the machine is controlled from there. We have two selector valves that work the machine. The valve on the left is the main control that operates all functions on the machine that allows for a one hand operation. The second valve is used if the wire spool is in use. The speed of the drums are controlled by flow  dividers that control the speed at which the drums rotate.

Cost and Time Savings

We have run this machine and have found that our times are reduced in removing and reinstalling the well pumps . It takes us 20 minutes to pull a 300 foot well and replace it in 15 minutes after  all repairs have been made. The pump is  pulled and  reinstalled in the well  at a rate of 45 feet per minute and as we lower the pipe the drum is stopped every revolution, which is nine feet, to tape the wire to the pipe. The wire is free spooling back to the well from the wire spooler.  This job used to take us several hours with three men. Now it takes us less than one hour with one or two  men.  Other benefits of this machine are the pipe is no longer touching the ground with the risk of contamination. There is no worrying about what to do with 300 ft of pipe after being pulled from the well.  It is contained on the drum.
